Like I mentionned back in August 2011 (wow, it feels like ages ago now !), I had been contacted by Rashida (of I Heart Linen blog) a long while ago, to see if I would be interested in contributing to a new book : ZAKKA STYLE.
It fitted what I was making at that time & I accepted gladly. The book is filled with projects for functional and beautiful objects (I love functional and beautiful), made with linen & cotton prints (mostly), and some with small pieces of fabrics (that's economical & fun). All projects were made by fellow crafter bloggers, from all around the world. I have a couple of friends in there !
I contributed with a simple pincushion.
Here are sneak peeks of other projects in the book :
project by Laurraine / Patchwork Pottery
project by Theresia / Minori Design
project by Karin / The Workroom
project by Kim / Retro Mama
(crochetted stone of course by my friend Margie)
You can win a copy of this wonderful book, here today ! And ... Stash Books is kindly offering to give away a copy of the Zakka Style e-book too ! So that's a double chance for you to give a copy of this book !!
What you'll need to do is to :
- leave a comment to this post
- let me know a way to contact you if you win
- tell me if you are a regular/frequent reader of the blog or if you landed here for the first time today
- tell me which simple thing made you smile, laugh or simply feel good / happy recently
The double giveaway is open to everyone & anyone around the world. Please don't be shy, add your name to the giveaway, and if you feel like telling me more (like where you read me from), feel free to do so ! (because I like to know who reads the silly things I write here !)
OK, so leave your comment & answer on this post, before Saturday 25th 10pm GMT, and I'll announce both winners in a blog post right away ! Good luck everyone !

What a really beautiful book Sonia! Your contribution like all your creations is wonderful. As you know I am a frequent visitor here. Something that has made me so happy recently was my son sharing with me a couple of pages from a funny book he is reading. We laughed so much together as the book is hilarious - these moments are priceless. Good luck to everyone who enters this wonderful giveaway! Jane xxx

what a wonderful book and I love your contribution so very much. Someone ( maybe you or one of our friends ) should write a book about gift making with natural dyed fabrics and fibers.

Hi Sonia! Congrats! I´ve been following you almost for the first day I discovered flickr which are some years. (My nickname is Pompitas). I´ve seen the book in Amy´s blog too and now that I found you have contributed to the book too makes me smile and think how many talented people I found on the internet that are connected. Well, something that made me laughed yesterday was looking at the mirror and seeing that my mascara ran. (I am not used to wear make up.)

Hi there.
Thanks for this lovely giveaway. The book looks great. It must be a cool feeling to be part of something like that.
I have been following your blog for some months now. I came across it when I was researching natural dyeing, which fascinates me a lot.
Today I felt very good after having sent a few pacels to friends who are learning for their exams. I love to receive parcels so I love to send them too. : )
I'd love to get my hands on that book but anyways: thanks for writing this blog and sharing your creativity with us!
Greetings from Germany, Katharina

I read your blog everyday. You make beautiful things and I like your cat Gary. I have been reading your blog for about a year. I live in New York, I like to read blogs from all over to see what is happening in different corners os the world. Yesterday I smiled when I took a little winter walk on my local beach with my kids and we picked up sea glass.

The projects look really inviting, I especially like the purse and potholders (always getting burned in the kitchen...) and of course the pincushion :) I've been a subscriber to the blog and newsletter for a while, and I find your experiments with natural dyeing and your aspiration to life a simpler life are very inspiring. My 3 and a half year old daughter keeps me happy and laughing, with her fanciful language which mixes 3 different ones and the little stories and songs that she's always making up. Thank you and Stash Books for the giveaway!

Hi there! What a beautiful book! I would love the opportunity to own one.
I'm fairly new here but a regular reader. My husband (who is currently working and living elsewhere) was able to visit for a long weekend this past week - it was wonderful, so that, indeed, made me extremely happy.
Thanks for the chance to win this book.

Congratulations and well done! I'm a regular reader (Google subscriber), and always inspired by what you are up to.
Recent smile? When my smallest was overwhelmed at her good luck when Dad bought her popcorn *and* fizzy at the cinema. She looked at her tray and said "I can't believe I'm getting this! Mummy NEVER buys us this kind of thing...[pause]....SHE wants us to be healthy!" Parental win or fail, do you think?

What a beautiful and serene look that book has. I love your pincushion.
Something that made me happy recently was ordering some new seeds and some mushroom spawn for this year's garden. It lifted my heart to think of warmer days and the excitement of working towards my goal entirely edible landscaping.
Oh, and I'm a regular here. ;)

what a beautiful book, was such a nice surprise to see my poppies pattern used by karin
I come and visit daily, but don't always comment

This book looks fantastic and it would make a wonderful new addition to my coffee table for all my guests to enjoy along with me.
I'm actually new to your blog, but I know I'll be back - frequently :)
My friend & I have been working on a Fair Trade clothing line for women (azadiproject.com) Recently, after seeing our collection, one of our partners in Uzbekistan sent us a beautiful letter about how happy he was to see his hand-loomed Ikat used so "elegantly" and how much he appreciated out partnership. The letter made me smile, but also cry a little - tears of joy of course.
Love your work! :)

Just stumbled across your blog for the first time today! Glad to have found you! Something that made me happy lately: finding a strange note from a child nestled into a book I got from the library!

Hi! A regular reader... admiring that cool book! An unexpected bunch of sunflowers showed up in my kitchen table, courtesy of my awesome husband -- that made me smile!

Congratulations on the book Sonia. It must feel wonderful to see your pretty pincushion in the book and on the back cover. It's good you asked about a happy moment as my week has felt frustrating, but I realized I have smiled quite a number of times. Here are two: when I saw the 'animal parade' (in my head at least) in Margie's lichen photo yesterday and when my youngest brought a beautiful book home for me (her teacher was giving books away). It's a book by Vita Sackville-West and illustrated with beautiful watercolours. She knows her mom. :)

I followed a link to your blog and landed here for the first time. My 3 month old daughter makes me smile every day! This book actually looks very good for me because I am looking for some projects to sew and I am still learning.

Hello Sonia, I'm a regular reader of your blog - but I never commented before. This seems the right occasion! Thank you so much for your insights and for this opportunity. I smile and laugh a lot everyday (lucky me), and today enjoyed a walk by the sun watching the italian sea.
Ciao!
