I could have named this post with a handful of different titles, but the one I have chosen seemed to be the most poetic.
Before time slips away, as usual, I wanted to share with you photos from our afternoon trip in nature, last Sunday. (see, it's already been almost a week !) It was very sunny & really warm (too warm for February)
I wanted to pick alder cones (for dyeing) but in the end, the ones I could see were not accessible to me. Hubby & I changed our mind for another plant, which will probably be the theme of my next post, next week.
Spring does come early over here. After an unseasonbly cold early February, we had an unseasonably warm late February. Go figure. So some things suffered from the freezing temps, and some are now blooming, but we all know here that March & April (and sometimes even May) are full of surprises, and that it can be cold again. We do enjoy the unseasonably warmth of the moment but can't be fooled ! This said, spring always does come early here.
where ripples meet
very sunny (as you can see)
alnus glutinosa (alder), cones & catkins
soft & light as ... a feather
lichen heart
oak leaves, stained glass looking
that's aquatic mint growing in there
that's baby crayfishes growing in there !
(can you spot them ?!)
almond tree, always the first to bud
probably the only red spots over there
so beautiful with the sun light going through !
Look deep
into nature, and
then you will
understand
everything better.

It was really a beautiful afternoon. I hope we'll be out in nature again soon ... as soon as hubby'll be less busy at work. I may try to squeeze other kinds of nature trips. I will let you know ... if it happens !
Now let me wish you a beautiful weekend ahead. I hope this post finds you healthy & happy. Please take care.

I always love your nature picture posts andright now they are such a balm for the soul as I've been inside almost completely for nearly 2 weeks!! Crispin was sick all of last week and then Greg came down with something new on Sunday. Looking at your pictures is just so refreshing. And gorgeous!! It was cold then warm then cold here...seems so crazy and truly our plants are wondering what's going on!
Hope you have a great weekend! Big hugs!

Gorgeous photos Sonia.
We are colder again here. Yesterday it was so bright and sunny (though chilly), and on my walk to & from town I was really rather warm. Today I was back in gloves and a scarf to take the girl to school, it was COLD! Love our weather though, it's never boring!
Have a lovely weekend.
xx
