... knock knock
... someone's there ?
... helloooooo ?!
(dusting the cobwebs)
... ah ! good, you're here ! How are you ?
(thinking : hoorray, I'm not alone !!)
Funny thing about blogging, once you take a week (or more) off, it gets hard to get back into it ! But, yay, here I am again, and while I did miss you, I didn't miss blogging. I think I REALLY needed a good ol' internet break !
I will SLOWLY go back to a social, internet life, so if I haven't visited you for a couple of weeks & owe you a visit, or if you sent me an email some time ago, and that I owe you a reply, DON'T WORRY, it will come. Just not everything at the same time.
I hope you all have been doing great (or good, simply good) while I was away. I do hope so. You'll need to tell me what you've been up to !!
What did I do during my blog break ? In a few sentences ...
... been making parcels for some friends
... been enjoying the presence of my mom
... been starting to learn (again) how to knit (thanks to my mom)
... been sorting out the boys' clothes, gave away what they had outgrown to my mom's friends & to charity, and been shopping for what they needed (to go through autumn & part of winter)
... been enjoying listening to CalmRadio, Oriental channel, (for free) on the iMac (iTunes), not online (sooo relaxing)
... been changing all bed linens for the change of season
... been "autumn cleaning" a little bit, with the help of my mom
... been dyeing with what I had at home (using what I had, and making room (in the fridge) for future dyes)
... been shopping for clothes for myself, and gave away (to my mom's friends & to charity) just as many, if not more
... been baking apple/cinnamon/rolled oats/pecan nut muffins (yum)
... been making corn chowder (with hubs) for the first time & loved it !
... been reading, and enjoying it a lot
... been emptying one of my book baskets for using it for autumn & nature themed books for the boys
... been making piles with fab books I want to go through (again)
... been sewing three pairs of pillow cases for my bed, and two duvet covers for the boys. Had never sewn something that big. I had to relocate in the kitchen !
... been taking few photos, therefore I have few to upload & show
... and in a word, I've been trying to live slowly (or slowlier), even though I've been very active (walked a lot last week) everyday
It may seem few for the time I was away, but it felt like climbing mountains ! Sometimes (ok, this is a big lie, it is ALWAYS) you need to tackle things you always postpone. Silly things, little things, bigger things, and immaterial things too.
Blogging is great, the internet is fabulous. I met my most wonderful (and REAL) friends, I've even met a handful of them, and all living far away from me. (and I count my blessings about that). I owe my bestest friends to Flickr mostly. And to simply the internet, for my "eldest" friends.
But blogging and the internet life in general are time huge consumers, and have the tricky ability to always manage to stay in a corner of your mind. I bet you all know what I mean. One way or another. Balancing time spent at the computer, or FOR your blog or flickr (or whatever ... Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest ...) is way more difficult & trickier than I would have ever thought. The limit between nothing and too much of it, is very hard to tell, and harder to control.
Sometimes life choses for you, and you simply do not have the time for spending time at the computer. But when you do have the choice, and a bit of time, it can become very easy to spend more time than you should, at the computer, instead of making something. Actually making something.
Where am I going to ? Well, I think I have come to the "too much time spent at the computer" point. I like it, it's a fact, and I will never ever stop blogging, taking photos, making things and selling them online. (phew, that was close, eh ?) BUT. I need to slow down. Blog less often, it's irrealistic for me to be a daily blogger. Even though I'm a Stay At Home Mom, I don't want to spend too much time at the computer anymore. For my children and hubby, first. For having time to make more, then. And for the sake of it, lastly.
So here I am again, I will not say farewell (oh no, I won't), but expect me less often in that space, that's all. Nothing changes for you, but something'd got to change for me.
I left this place in summer, and I came back in autumn, what fun ! Happy autumn to all my northern hemispher friends & readers, and happy spring to all my southern hemisphere friends & readers !

made with some leaves for this year
and lots of others from past years
What about our temperatures, you'll ask ? (yes, I knew you wanted to ask, I knew it) When I came back home from taking the boys back to school after lunch, it was ... 30°C. In the shade, of course. When on earth will we get more seasonal temps ? OK, I have my answer ... by the end of October it should be chillier.
Alright, girls, give me some time, and I'll be fully back. I missed you so much. I hope you're all healthy & doing great.
... Tell me ... what have you been up to ? (and that you'd like to share here, of course)
many hugs
